Nerium oleander is a shrub or small tree cultivated in most warm regions of the world, often used as hedging. Originally from the Mediterranean area, growing near water, with pink flowers, it can now be found in many colours, with both single and double flowers.
Some varieties of oleander are scented, and these are probably the type previously known as Nerium indicum, from Asia.
Although it can stand temperatures down to -5oC or even less for short periods, Nerium oleander does better if kept warmer.
Propagation:
Nerium oleander can be propagated by cuttings or by seed.
All parts of Nerium oleander are considered TOXIC
